What
a fantastic time we all had at lovely La Mimosa. I
just don't know how you bear to drag yourself away
- we found it extremely difficult.
On all levels the holiday was great, the garden was
wonderful to sit in and the pool was fabulous - the
kids just loved it (as did we!). We ventured out a
little, but just couldn't wait to get back to the
house - it would have been very easy to spend the
whole summer there!
The facilities were great, and we felt quite at home.
There was nothing as I recall that any of us felt
was lacking. When it was hot in the afternoon, the
children would chill in the living room and watch
a film, there was a great selection of books and the
kitchen was well equipped.
Thank
you very much for sharing your home, I bet you can't
wait to get back at the end of the summer.

We
have just had the best holiday ever. On opening the
gate to La Mimosa we all knew that we were going to
have a fantastic time here!
The
Villa is fantastic, and we could not find any faults
It is so hard to express how much we all loved it
The children have loved playing in the pool whilst
we laze on the sun beds. It was so relaxing it was
hard to prise ourselves away & venture out. On
the few occasions we went out we were stunned by the
views from the Sierra Nevada National Park and the
beautiful villages on the way. We had lovely meals
in Orgiva but spent most evenings eating al fresco
at the villa and drinking far too much Malaga wine
(dulce).
Thank
you for letting us share your wonderful home it has
been a real pleasure.

Your
house is an absolute pleasure. It is obvious that
a lot of love and attention to detail has gone into
both it and the garden.
We
appreciated that every single thing you could need
was provided in the house. That really added to the
relaxed and homely feel of the holiday. A superb book
and movie collection I thought - a week was not near
long enough to do it justice.
We
walked every day and I love the landscape. It reminds
me very much of an area in New Zealand I used to live
in before coming to the UK. Orgiva and surrounds are
much more relaxed than the Ronda area where we have
been walking a couple of times before.
Your
house is such a perfect place to stay. We are all
very envious.

Extremely
well equipped and spacious house and gardens with
lovely views. Sitting by a bright blue lit pool listening
to the cicadas imbibing our fifth glass of wine makes
the stresses of the UK seem a million miles away.

We
spent the first week of our honeymoon here and it
was the perfect location lots of relaxing by
the pool, and when it got too hot, chilling out in
the spacious lounge with the great DVD collection.
We enjoyed the beach nearby for a day but found it
difficult to stay away from the house having stocked
up with a great selection for the barbeque from the
hypermarket in Motril and having such a comfortable
place to relax.
Well
be back.

We
thoroughly enjoyed our week at 'La Mimosa". We'll
have to return to explore the magnificent hills in
the Alpajurra.
Many thanks for allowing us to share your beautiful
home and our introduction to life in the Alpujarras.
We'll certainly be back.

We
have all had a great time at "La Mimosa"
The view of the mountains has been beautiful and we
have been star gazing most nights. Orgiva has been
a great town to visit for the good beer and tapas.
We are all only just getting ourselves familiar with
the Spanish people in this area. We have all now read
"Driving over Lemons" and this has greatly
enhanced our visit. We feel we all want to meet Chris,
Domingo and Pedro. The South of England will seem
a bit bleak after this. We have enjoyed everything
and we hope to see you in the future.

We
had a fantastic time and all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
We helped ourselves to fresh figs and grapes from
the garden, beautiful, Mum was in her element.

Many
thanks for making this lovely house so welcoming and
comfortable. We had a wonderful time.
We did some of the little walks in the Poqueira Valley
and were especially impressed with the pretty fuente
near Ferreriola.
Thank you again.

Up
the mountain here we go
Over the edge, oh no, no, no,
We found the house - what a surprise -
We really couldn't believe our eyes.
Of course we did it in the dark,
You couldn't call it much of a lark.
But safely here, we drank some beer (and whisky)
And soon began to dispel our fear.
The pool was absolutely great.
And although we arrived so very late
Great vibrations, three generations
Into the pool - no hesitations.
Young, medium and old we were -
a wonderful time we all concur.

When
we pushed open the gates I can assure you that the
kids were very excited with our first sight of the
pool, and we were even happier when we went in and
set about exploring the house.
Your
house, pool and gardens are perfect for unwinding,
we didn't go anywhere for the first two days. We found
the layout of the villa and the gardens ideal - with
a variety of eating, reading and day-dreaming spots.
The pool was clean, the kitchen well-equipped (and
the laundry very useful after travelling and staying
at hotels!).
The
welcome basket is a really nice touch. Your helpful
suggestions and advice from our first enquiry right
through to our visit were very, very welcome and to
be honest were one of the deciding factors in us choosing
your villa.
The books, tapes and DVDs all of a quality and variety
that pleased and impressed us.
We
have had a fantastic week here - doing a hike up in
the Alpujarras to see all the villages, going to Granada
to see the Alhambra, staring up at the mountains at
sunset, and having a glorious time in the pool.
Thank
you so much for sharing your home with us. We had
a wonderfully relaxing week - a perfect third and
final week to our holiday.
La Mimosa lived up to all our expectations.

Another
fortnight later and it's the turn of another family
to feel really sad at leaving La Mimosa. Thank you
so much for the wonderful holiday we've had here;
a bundle of joyful and precious moments, lounging
by the pool reading novels, working on our tans while
the children grappled with Orca (the inflatable whale!)
laughing themselves silly. As the sun slowly set,
it was our turn to grapple - this time with the barbecue,
source of several tasty feasts - and to drink local
wine staring up at a million stars. For the first
few days, that was all we did - our only contact with
the world being the charming gardener Antonio, and
the totally brilliant Carlos who cleaned the pool,
plus of course the gentlemanly Spanish neighbour who
gave us fresh figs - the best I've ever tasted. As
time passed we grew curious to venture beyond the
track that leads to the wider world - and have several
trips to recommend:
1. Up the hill to Capileira, which we did twice for
the sheer beauty of the views.
2. Down to the coast, to the water park in Almunecar,
called "Aqua Tropical" - the best water
slides ever, plus wave machines and rotating pools
(or whatever)and a great ambience. Great if you've
got kids, great if you haven't!
3. North along the motorway to Granada and the Alhambra,
which is too wonderful to describe: a jewel.
Locally we enjoyed two good meals in town. Otherwise
our focus was here in this wonderful welcoming home
which you have created. We'll remember forever the
glorious views of the distant hills, shadows slowly
shifting as the day wears on, revealing at one moment
sharp rugged crags and then soft trees and scrub,
swallows darting in the dusk. Then in the darkness,
sitting by the pool gazing up at too many stars to
count, reflecting on all we have seen on our visit
to Spain, until finally falling into bed, drowned
with the heavy scent of jasmine from the gateway.
What
a beautiful home. What a tonic. Thank you.
