Holiday villa for rent in Orgiva, Las Alpujarras, Andalucia, South of Granada, Southern Spain. Sleeps 8 (4 bedrooms). Private pool, shaded terraces, stunning mountain views.

Thanks Alan and Rowena, for helping us to have a great time last week. Everything was fine at La Mimosa and the welcome pack was great. The lift you organised for us worked out very well and we had a lovely walk on that first day.

Had a couple of meals at the restaurant at the camp site which we enjoyed and we found the bar above the 7 eyed bridge very entertaining (some real characters in there!)

Spent a day in Granada and visited the Alhambra. We had an excursion down to the coast at Nerja on Friday. The weather was great and we had an excellent meal on the seafront before returning to Orgiva.

Walking poles have been out for some good walks. A walk around the villages of La Taha & the Trevelez Gorge gave us a real insight into how life must have been in the Alpujarras before the tour buses discovered the region.

Our trip was rounded off on our final day with quite a strenuous walk around the Trevenque peak above the Dilar valley. We accessed the area from the Granada ring road/through the superb/La Zubia. We commenced our walk from Fuente del Hervidero then on past the botanical gardens at La Cortijuela.

Thank you very much! We enjoyed very much our vacation at La Mimosa. Beautiful mornings waking up to the spectacular scenery. Great BBQ’s in the evenings, the children learned to swim in the marvellous swimming pool. At night we sat outside by the pool looking up at the stars and recharging our energies...

The villa was very comfortable and it is obvious that you have thought about every little detail to make the house pleasant, warm and comfortable.

And again, thank you for a fabulous vacation.

What a great area for a holiday! Your lovely home and pool is very well equipped.

An enjoyable and relaxing week was had by us all and we hope to return in the future.

How lucky we were to come across your wonderful home. We had many plans when we arrived but found it impossible to drag ourselves away from the pool. No regrets however, whatsoever.

We had a wonderful fortnight at La Mimosa which miraculously managed to satisfy the wants of our diverse family who journeyed from Wales, Canada, France and England. We want to thank you for the opportunity you offered us for the reunion/holiday. We all loved the La Mimosa and everything we did during the two weeks in Orgiva.

Besides a few days spent relaxing by the pool we went to the beach, did some walking (including Mulhacen), Went to the Alhambra, Granada, Salobrena, and the white villages.

All in all we had a wonderful and ideal combination of relaxation, sightseeing and walking. La Mimosa provided the secure and comfortable base from which this could happen.

We had a great holiday at La Mimosa and really liked the villa, particularly the pool area and the peace and quiet.

The absolute highlight of the whole holiday for me, was getting the bus up from Capileira to Mirador de Trevelez and climbing Mulhacen in the Sierra Nevada, it was just great up there. We discovered wonderful lakes and crags and saw Ibis as well.

I also walked part of GR7, from Suportojar to Canar, and we drove to the top of Mount Lujar and walked from there,

Thanks very much for providing a base for a lovely holiday at La Mimosa!

We’ve had a wonderful 2 weeks, can’t believe we all have to go home now. We are all very relaxed, enjoying a lifestyle of vino and tapas. It’s been hard to drag ourselves away from La Mimosa, the pool, the garden, and for Ben your James Bond DVD collection

We managed to see all of the places that we wanted to visit, Nerja caves and town, the white villages, Alhambra, beaches, and some shopping.

Please thank Antonio the gardener again for the tomatoes and peppers, they didn’t last long.

All in all we have freely enjoyed ourselves at wonderful La Mimosa.

We’ve had a wonderfully relaxing two weeks, mainly by the pool and barbecuing – visited mountain villages, Lanjeron and Granada. Tim and Jim climbed Mount Lujar opposite the pool and found a mine and deserted village at the top with amazing views along the coast and Sierra Nevada, we really don’t want to go home.

Thank you very much for letting us stay in your lovely home. We didn’t visit as many places as we could because the kids just loved being around the house and pool so much and it seemed cruel to drag them away. Orgiva is a lovely wee place as is Lanjeron.

We will definitely return to do more exploring.

We’ve enjoyed a wonderful but all too brief stay at La Mimosa. It’s been fabulous to experience the breathtaking splendour of the Alpujarras and combine the peace and tranquillity with the convenience of every 20th century amenity.

Debs found the garden with its vista of the imposing Mount Lujar to be the ideal setting for early morning yoga, whilst I perfected my racing turn in the pool.

It was a joy to pick our own fruit (figs, grapes, avocado, pomegranates, and even strawberry guava) from the garden and surrounding lanes.

All in all great scenery, great ambience, great food, great people.

Had a lovely time of very restful lazy days for 3 generations of our family in one go.  We will recommend it.

What can I say? We had an absolute brilliant time YET AGAIN. To arrive at La Mimosa once again to find as usual everything you could think of, was fantastic, you have certainly done your homework and it was great.

Weather was brilliant, swam most days and barbecued every night. Was great seeing Carlos (general factotum) again – he is a character and such a nice bloke as is Antonio (gardener) with whom I had many conversations and improved my Spanish no end. Figs and grapes and avocados were in abundance.

All in all we had yet another superb holiday at La Mimosa and returned with many happy memories. You should be proud of what you have achieved in providing a holiday rental that is hard to beat.
