We could have gone to Centre parks, but then we wouldn't have picked lemons, limes, figs and avocados from the trees. We wouldn’t have had a swimming pool outside our bedroom window and worn only our swimming costumes all week.

We wouldn’t have spotted lizards and exotic butterflies in the garden. We wouldn’t have drunk delicious hot chocolate in town making sure we got it all over our faces. And we wouldn’t have been able to pull the clanking cow bells in the fragrant garden, wean a baby on fresh paella and wandered out to catch the goats as they wandered past the villa.

We may yet visit “Centre Parks”. WE WILL RETURN to La Mimosa. Thank you Alan, you have thought of everything and CBeebies saved the day when the sun is just a little too high in the sky.

Lots of love,

Becky Jones Owen, Noah (2years) Daniel (9 months) Moseley, Birmingham

La Mimosa has been everything we hoped for and we have wanted for nothing here. A wonderfully relaxing holiday drinking in the scenery and spending lots of lazy days and evenings with a good book and a drink to hand.

The boys have had a fantastic time in and out of the pool (mainly in) and we’ve had great play value with the inflatable turtles.

We have managed to exert ourselves for several trips into Orgiva for the odd lunch and top up shop. We loved the bakery, great croissants and rustic loaves.

We’ve loved being here.

Thanks for letting the Williams family return to La Mimosa for yet another great holiday. The house is lovely, relaxing, and practical, you have thought of everything.

We have had a wonderful relaxing time here at La Mimosa; it was just what we were looking for in contrast to life back at home.

The scenery is magnificent and the villa, pool, and garden are perfect. The children have loved the pool. We have enjoyed visiting the mountains, a couple of trips to the sea and also to Granada for some culture.

We shall miss the simple life here. The lovely man with his goats, the pony carrying hay up the track, the endless blue skies, thank you so much.

Your home is lovely and suited us to the ground. It was simplicity at its best – we really relaxed, enjoyed the pool, the endless meals under the vine, the beautiful surrounding area, the people who were all so friendly and the restaurants etc.

The setting is spectacular. You can’t tire of that mountainous backdrop. The view from the garden is stunning. The villa was everything we could have asked for. The kids loved the pool and the video selection at Siesta time. We have taken so many photos, it will take a while to sort them all out. The light is fantastic in the evening sun.

We found the house very functional (not that we were actually in it much!) with plenty of equipment for cooking. We were so happy to sit and barbecue and enjoy the peace and quiet and the pool.

We trekked up to a mountain at 3100m. We left at 7am and managed the trip in 7hrs, walking all the time. It was amazing. We saw about 50 wild mountain goats (we call them bouqetins in French), the air was cool at the top with fantastic views and we were surprised by how much pine forest and water there was. Beautiful flowers etc, reminded us of the Alps.

We went to Trevelez one day and walked up behind the village and found a great spot for picnic and swimming; the water was lovely and clear and the children spent the whole day making dams.

We also managed to find a lovely beach which was just beyond Calahonda. You had to park at the top and walk under the bridge. I’m sure you know it. There was hardly a soul there. Lovely clean water and a little café to buy a beer or two.

The house is so lovely and cool, even when very hot outside. Gorgeous views of the garden and beyond – wonderful colours, very peaceful.

We found everything that we needed in Orgiva. Here are some of our favourite things:

  • Patrick (13): Fresh grapes, being in the pool, the James Bond DVD collection.
  • Georgia (11): Mountain views and rescuing a baby gecko from the pool.
  • Jem (2): New toy cars and great places to drive them.
  • Martin (43): Lazing in the sunshine in a lovely private garden.
  • Bridget: Eating by candlelight outside and swimming by moonlight.

Thank you for a lovely week.
