Orgiva is a good centre from which to explore this interesting region on foot, by car or local bus. You can wander along footpaths that are centuries old and be constantly amazed at the breathtaking scenery and vibrant colours of oleander, wisteria and bougainvillea.

Granada with its Alhambra Palace, gardens, Cathedral and Moorish Albaicin quarter are just one hours drive away. You can fill your own water bottles at the Spa town of Lanjeron which can be reached in fifteen minutes. A drive to the pueblo blanco white villages of Pampaneira, Bubion and Capileira in the Poqueira Gorge of the Sierra Nevada National Park is an essential part of any visit.
